Gain the knowledge needed to identify clients that could benefit from various tax credits and incentives and valuing your services based on the benefit you bring to your clients. Included are the R&D Tax Credit, Cost Segregation, Work Opportunity Tax Credits (WOTC), new and enhanced energy incentives – 179D, 45L and Renewable Energy Tax Credits.

Speaker Bios
A passionate advocate for the accounting profession, Todd has dedicated his 20+ year career to driving transformation by bringing innovate technology solutions to market in the professional services sector, as well as business and industry across the globe.
Todd joined the CPA.com team (an AICPA company) with an extensive leadership background at some of the most recognized technology providers in the accounting and finance industry. As Director, Channels he oversees the execution of the CPA.com channel strategy that focuses on developing, maintaining, and expanding relationships and contributions across the entire channel network. Todd collaborates with strategic partners to create and implement a mutually beneficial channel partner program that supports awareness, engagement, marketing, and revenue goals. This includes firm associations, industry alliances and networks, state societies, and industry thought leaders.
Todd has been a featured speaker throughout his career in the areas of practice management, tax technology, and FinTech. He lives outside Houston, TX where he enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, is active on multiple youth sports boards, and serves as an alumnus advisor for the college of business for his alma mater
Randy Crabtree, co-founder and partner of Tri-Merit Specialty Tax Professionals, is a widely followed author, lecturer and podcast host for the accounting profession. Since 2019, he has hosted the bi-weekly The Unique CPA, podcast, which ranks among the world’s 5% most popular programs (Source: Listen Score). You can find articles from Randy in Accounting Today’s Voices column, the AICPA Tax Adviser, CPA Trendlines, Intuit’s TaxPro Center and he is a regular presenter at conferences and virtual training events hosted by national accounting associations, state CPA societies and other industry associations.
Randy was listed in the Ones to Watch section of Accounting Today’s 2021 Top 100 Most Influential people in Accounting. In May 2022 he was appointed, for a 3-year term, to the Intuit Tax Council. Prior to starting Tri-Merit, he was managing partner of a CPA firm in the greater Chicago area. Randy has more than 30 years of public accounting and tax consulting experience in a wide variety of industries and has worked closely with top executives to help them optimize their tax planning strategies.
Sarah Ference is a Risk Control Director for the Accountants Professional Liability Insurance Program of Continental Casualty Company, a CNA company and the underwriter of the AICPA Professional Liability Insurance Program. Risk control services provided by Sarah and her team include policyholder consultations, development and delivery of risk management training and education products, authoring monthly risk management articles for the Journal of Accountancy, and creating other tools to assist CPA firms in managing their professional liability risk.
Prior to joining CNA, Sarah practiced public accounting for 15 years with a Big Four public accounting firm. As a director at the firm, Sarah provided internal control and risk management co-sourcing and external audit services to clients in multiple industries. She partnered with clients to help supplement or outsource functions typically performed in-house. She also served in a senior management role for a financial institution client for a 10-month period. Sarah was a national instructor for the firm, educating audit and advisory staff on the firm’s audit process and internal control assessment methodology.
A graduate of Drake University with a BSBA in Accounting and Corporate Finance, Sarah is a CPA licensed in Illinois and Iowa, as well as a member of the AICPA and the Illinois CPA Society.
